Community 1:1 Support

ILEAP's Community 1:1 Support Service is our most personalised and flexible form of support.

We carefully match members with a dedicated Support Friend or Mentor who will work alongside them to achieve goals that are important to them. Whether that's building confidence, developing independence, making friends, accessing the community or pursuing a personal interest, every programme is tailored to the individual.

Many of our members begin their ILEAP journey with Community 1:1 Support and, over time, gain the confidence and skills to join group activities, make new friends and become more independent.

There is no set programme. Your support is built around your interests, goals and aspirations, which might include:

• Visiting places of interest

• Developing travel confidence

• Accessing local clubs and activities

• Exploring hobbies and interests

• Building social skills and friendships

• Improving confidence and independence

• Volunteering opportunities

• Shopping and money skills

• Attending leisure, sport and cultural activities

• Working towards personal goals

The possibilities are almost endless, and we encourage members to follow their interests and passions within their local community.

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of both members and staff, Community 1:1 Support is delivered out in the community rather than in private homes.
